Phillip Schulze and Armin Purkrabek are on the search for new
picture and tone worlds. Years ago they dipped into a universe
consisting of digital materials and analogous elements.
Now they swirl from one platform to another. And there seems
no way out. It seems almost strange that they stop at a
television but if you know these two guy's you should know
that they aren't here to watch TV. They work exceptionally on
the "narrenkastl" with all their tools in a way that passes
hear and see for one. "Magnetstudie 02" is their quite personal
attempt to investigate the limits of the TV picture manipulated
by electromagnet’s. If you can see the two at their work one
could feel sorry for all these televisions out there and would
long for the good old time with cable television. There you had
a lot of programs with good transmission. However, "magnetstudie 02"
is miles away from the "good picture". And it seems, that the
picture destroys itself! Three electromagnets distort, scratch
and fling the picture matrix of the television in such a manner
that one gets quite dizzy. Beautifuel technical and gruesome at
